About Clearomizers and CartomizersThe common e-cigarette starter kit usually comes with atomizers. In the past years, e-cigarette technology becomes advanced. The cartomizers and clearomizers have become the most popular for many vapers because they are less expensive and more convenient to maintain.

These clearomizers and cartomizers do not require cleaning and are very easy to fill. But they also tend to hold much liquid in some cases. Clearomizers, cartomizers and atomizers have various differences. But a lot of customers are becoming confused when they try to purchase them. The following paragraphs will discuss about the differences of clearomizers and cartomizers to atomizers.

What makes them similar to atomizers?

These cartomizers, clearomizers and atomizers contain heating coils. This heating coil  is part of each device that is responsible for vaporizing the liquid so you can “smoke” it. This is only one thing that makes all of them similar.

What are Cartomizers?

Cartomizers contain cartridge and a heating coil or atomizer in one unit. However, they do not have the filler material inside that is similar to the filler we saw in the standard atomizer cartridge. If you remove the rubber tip of the cartomizer, you'll see the filler material wrapped around a tube. The heating coil is inside the tube. The e-liquid will then go inside the cartomizer where the filler is located.

About Clearomizers and Cartomizers

Types of Cartomizers

  • Standard cartomizers
  • low resistance, dual coil cartomizers
  • DCT V1 and DCT V2

What are Clearomizers?

The clearomizers do not contain filler materials. They only consist of a metal tube that extends up to the middle of the body. There are clearomizers, in which their heating coil is located at the bottom of the tube or on top of it. But either way, the fiber wicks of the clearomizers extend from the atomizing coil, soak up liquid and then they would carry it to the heating coil. The clearomizers have a tip at the top, they will just be removed for filling.

Types of Clearomizers

  • Vision Ego Clearomizer – disposable style
  • Innokin Dual Coil Clearomizer – rebuildable style
  • Nova Tank system

Clearomizers are available in rebuildable and disposable styles. The disposable types like Vision Ego Clearomizers will be thrown away when they gave up, usually 2-4 weeks. Many people prefer to purchase the disposable types because they do not want to change the parts out. Others find them more convenient.

E-Liquid capacity – its capacity differ greatly. The small ones hold up to 1.5 ml and the large ones hold 3 ml or more e-liquid.

Resistance – it is available in standard resistance and low resistance. Its resistance ranges from 1.5 up to 2.8 ohms.

Bottom Coil – Clearomizers such as the MT BCC and Tabac BCC contain a heating coil that is placed at the bottom of the clearomizer rather than on top. And when the heating coil is placed at the top, you will need to the clearomizer in order to get liquid to coil. The coil placed at the bottom does not require you turn the clearomizer upside down.
