Chemicals in Cigarettes that Can Stop You from Breathing
03/13/2013 02:34There have already been a lot of medical studies that prove how harmful are the chemicals contained in cigarettes to the smokers' health and the environment, but these have not made people realize the lesson from the early deaths of cancer victims and those whose future was ruined by other smoke-associated illnesses. This is one major reason why the World Health Organization and the government agencies are collaborating for one cause in educating people of the effects of tobacco smoking. However, notwithstanding the action of authorities in implementing rule for the higher cost of cigarettes and commanding manufacturers to put warnings onto their packaging, the smoke addiction still seems to be unstoppable.
Indeed, the end of this kind of vice is uncertain given the fact that the cigarette business is getting good revenue every year. It is not, however, right to impute the blame to the manufacturers because, after all, it is up for the smokers whether or not to buy the products being sold. In other words, cigarettes are merely a temptation and it will never turn into a fatal mistake if no one would dare to take it. Anyhow, if you really are having hard time in quitting your smoking vice, then these dreadful facts about the cigarette chemicals and their health effects would probably force you to do so immediately:
Formaldehyde
This chemical is used as embalming fluid to preserve dead bodies, but unfortunately, if you intake this from the cigarette smoke, it can never preserve your body but instead, poison your whole system until you finally lose your breath. It has also been noted to cause gastrointestinal, skin, and respiratory problems and worst of all is cancer.
Benzene
No one would dare to drink fuel but smokers have already did because each of them has taken this petrol additive through cigarette smoke. You are probably aware that the colorless cyclic hydrocarbon acquired from petroleum and coal is being uses as one solvent in fuel and other chemicals. This fact alone is something compelling for the smokers who do not want to fuel themselves with the danger of having leukaemia that can result from this chemical.
Ammonia
It is known as a toilet cleaner that is being used as a falvouring in cigarettes, and it also frees nicotine from tobacco that will eventually turn into gas. This is probably what most smokers do not know because if they do, it is also true to say that they would dare to take chemicals that they use in cleaning their toilet.
Arsenic and Hydrogen Cyanide
These are used in poisoning rat and commonly found in gas chamber, but smokers are actually the number one users of these chemicals because they are contained in cigarette smoke. They are poisoining themselves like what they do to rats without them being conscious about it.
Nicotine
Knowledgeable smokers are familiar about this chemical and its addictive effect, but what they do not probably know is that it is also one chemical in insecticides and a powerful poison that can instantly affect normal body functioning. If you already know this yet you still continue to smoke, then is it right for people to say that you consider your self as an insect? Think about it.
Tar
When you inhale smoke from the lighted cigarette, this is the substance that you would directly get that will be deposited in your lungs. Imagine how your lung will slowly break down as the seventy percent of which is working against your health.
These harmful chemicals are indeed an ultimate proof that there is no health benefit that the smokers can have out of smoking vice. It would only cause health problems and other relative consequences that may eventually lead to a premature death.
